BabyTalk Cover Contest

I'm entering Olivia in a Cover Contest for a Baby magazine! The picture has to be from within the past month (so I can't use the crockpot picture). I've selected some finalists that qualify, but I can only use one! I need your help! Your vote counts! Just like it did when I was picking out my wedding dress and the name for my child! Don't let me down!

Picture #1 - Fuzzy Cape
Olivia received this hand-crocheted (sp?) cape as a baby shower gift. We found it, and she had fun modeling it for the camera.

Picture #2 - "I Dressed Myself!"
Olivia leaned into the laundry basket, picked out this outfit, and wouldn't let go.

Picture #3 - Exploring Poppop's Chin
When Poppop came to visit, Olivia was scared at first. But curiosity got the best of her in the end.

Picture #4 - "...Makes Bathtime So Much Fun!"
Today at bathtime, Josh just couldn't resist photographic evidence of this historical cuteness.

Picture #5 - Standing Pretty
Olivia has become quite good at standing and walking - she needs only a finger to hold onto for balance. Unless, of course, both her hands are occupied with a granola bar wrapper.

Picture #6 - LIttle Bit O' Attitude
Just in case the judges get tired of looking at little angels all day long...

So vote now! I have to enter these before March 1 because some of the pictures were taken February 1 and they can't be more than a month old! I'm trusting your judgement!

Etadpu

A friend reminded me that I used to actually write about life in this thing. So... while Josh puts Olivia asleep to the sound of The Shins, I will update you.

Josh:
He's been busy working away on his thesis and his homework and doing research for his assistantship. Not to mention being a doting father. Oh, and husband, too. He has applied to Purdue at West Lafayette for their doctoral program. The IUPUI program doesn't have classes he's interested in. So I think we'll find out in March if he gets in. Then we can make more decisions. If he gets an amazing assistantship, then we'll move to West Lafayette. If he doesn't, he'll apply to Cumins, a company in Carmel for an engineering job. They have a program where they'll pay salary with benefits as well as your schooling. He'll probably have to work there an additional year for every year of school they pay for. I wouldn't mind that.

Olivia:
She's got two teeth on the bottom and has been so fussy at night that we think she may be getting more on top now. She loves to walk all around the apartment holding on to your fingers. But she won't crawl. She still hates cereal. She loves fruit. And squash. We have found jars of cereal and rice combined; she'll eat that. That makes me feel better because it has more protein - 4 grams! She loves to drink from a cup, but will only play with and chew on sippy cups. I don't know if I've said this.. I think I had a picture of it, but she's in cloth diapers now. They save a lot of money and actually hold a lot better than the most expensive disposable. The only problem is they make her bottem very bulky. She doesn't fit into her cute little pants anymore. Maybe that's why they didn't have cute little baby pants when we were babies...

And me:
I'm sitting up now. All potty trained and everything. Actually, I accoplished that awhile ago. Just thought I'd let you know. I'm still teaching third grade in the mornings at Gray Road. I'm up to nine students. Two of them are girls. They're all pretty energetic. But they're also very caring and very smart. As much as I love my class and I love teaching them, I'm hoping I won't have this job next year. It's very draining to be up every couple hours feeding Olivia at night and then get up at 6am and go teach a bunch of overly-energetic children. If it weren't for Josh, I'm sure I would have had a couple break-downs already. He does a great job getting up and comforting Olivia at night. He doesn't have anything to do the next day until the afternoon. He gets to nap in the morning with her. Besides teaching, I've recently begun selling Pampered Chef products to help pay bills. My first month was last month, and it went really well. My sales were so high I got a bonus - two boxes of free stuff! If my sales are $1250 or more I have the opportunity to get bonuses like that for the first three months. I got that last month with only three shows. But then my mom's show was incredible. This month I have six shows, so I'm thinking I'll make my bonus for this month, too. Next month, I have no shows scheduled. So if you want to host a Pampered Chef show, let me know! If you think you live too far away, I can send you some catalogs and you can host a show just by passing them around with your friends! Then you get free stuff, just like me! Check out my website: www.pamperedchef.biz/chefzapf

Josh's dad is coming tomorrow. He's just spending the night. He has to be in Ft. Wayne on Tuesday morning for something. Then on the 3rd, I'm going home. I have a wedding to go to on the 4th.

Ashley is coming to visit me in March, too! It's going to be a fun month. That's also the month we find out about Purdue. Maybe.

Well, Olivia's asleep so I'm going to start planning some school stuff.
I'll try to update this more often. I'll look for more pictures, too. I'm sur you like those more than these lengthy novels.

Now I'm listening to Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee.
